WHO? Social Wahines is a network of young professional women living and working in Hawaii who are interested in meeting new people, making new business contacts, and having fun! WHAT? Social Wahines holds monthly gatherings for its members at various locations throughout Oahu. Each event has a different educational, cultural or social focus, ranging from a wine tasting and clothing swap to business networking event and a relaxing spa night. This is a great way to expand your horizons while making new friends and forming long lasting business relationships. |

Social Wahines is the brainchild of local girl, Danielle
Scherman. Originally from Kailua, HI, she has spent the
past four years living and working in New York City
where she founded an event management company
called Soiree Events (www.SoireeEventsUsa.com).
Having been a member of many social networking
groups in Manhattan, she has decided to bring home
with her New York's spirit of networking in the form of
"Social Wahines". She felt Hawaii was lacking an
avenue for young female professionals to network with
each other, and decided to make a change.
MORGAN CHILDS, EVENT COORDINATOR send email
Morgan Childs is an Event Planner with seven years of
experience planning, coordinating and designing
high-end events in Hawaii, New York City and Boston.
Morgan is the fourth generation of her family to be born
and raised in Hawaii and has returned home with a
unique blend of east coast experience and a deep
understanding and love for the local style, rich cultural
history and customs of the Hawaiian Islands. Most
recently, Morgan has been asked to speak at the
Kahala Mall 'Viva la Diva' event on Wedding and Party
Planning and is set to launch her own lifestyle radio
show on 101.1FM in August.
LEIALOHA DRAPER, EVENT COORDINATOR send email
Born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Lei is currently
pursuing a career within the event planning industry.
With a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the
University of Hawaii at Manoa, and almost ten years of
experience within the hospitality industry, she is
currently assisting with the event planning for both
Social Wahines and the Cool Kailua Nights Block Party &
Health Awareness Fair.
