Learn how to tend to your family tree at this workshop presented by the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i and Hawai‘i Hiroshima Heritage Study Group (H3SG). Attendees will participate in a three-segment workshop that covers varying subjects from basic information needed to begin their family’s genealogy research to an introduction of genealogy computer software as well as limited Japanese translations of family documents, such as koseki tōhon (family registry). This year’s workshop will also feature presentations by other ethnic study groups, including the Friends of ‘Iolani, Portuguese Genealogical Society of Hawai‘i, Okinawan Genealogical Society, and Mysteries of Honolulu Experiences. Registration recommended by Friday, October 2.

Cost/Entry Fee: $50 for JCCH members; $60 for non-members. Fee includes a workshop manual, lunch and refreshments, as well as limited translation services.
