The Surfrider Foundation will be hosting the 9th Annual John Kelly Environmental Achievement Awards on Saturday, December 3, 2011. This event celebrates and honors individuals and organizations who have contributed to keeping Hawai'i's ocean, beaches, and environment safe and clean. The evening will consist of local beer, wine, live music, silent auction, and much more. Tickets are $60 pre-sale and $75 at the door.
Each year, our members and supporters look forward to this signature event that celebrates and honors individuals and organizations who have contributed to keeping Hawai'i's ocean, beaches, and environment safe and clean. Last year, our event sold out and we expect to sell out again this year.
This award was named after John Kelly, who was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Other awardees include George Downing, Peter Cole and Mark Cunningham. Past recipients of the Oahu-Based Company Award include Patagonia-Haleiwa, Brushfire Records and the Honolulu Weekly. Finally, the Pro Surfer Award has recognized icons like Duane DeSoto, Dave Rastovich and Kelly Slater. They have all helped to protect our oceans and beaches and keep John Kelly's legacy alive. Please see the media release below for more information on the event.
