Your Task this Week: Discover new contacts & build relationships

Hi Wahines,
Facebook groups (which are different from pages) are a great way to find like-minded foks in the messy maze of Facebook. You can find a group that shares your profession, a group with a common interest, or connect with a group of potential clients.
To find Facebook groups, put your search term in the general search box on the top and scroll all the way down to "See more results for ____". On the left corner click on "Groups".
Once you find a group you'd like to join, click the "Ask to Join Group" text link on the right side of the page.
Your assignment this week is to join 3 groups. But you can't just leave it at that! After you've joined the group you need to interact in some way - start a discussion, add to a discussion, or post on the wall. This should not be an advertisement for your business, the goal here is to discover new contacts and build relationships. Who knows who you'll meet!
Another great way of tapping into new networks and building relationships is to use your Social Wahine network. Visit www.socialwahines.com and click "directory" and find 3 new people you've never met and send them a friendly hello. Take it a step further and ask what they're working on that you may be able to assist them with. By helping others, you will then be supported when you need the help.
